UDF demands presence in peace negotiations

United Democratic Front Party or UDF on Thursday demanded its presence in the ongoing peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as the right of a stakeholder in the country.

UDF Chairman Peter Abdurrahman Sule told journalists that they would not be part and parcel of any agreement reached without participation because their party represent the interest of wide cross section of South Sudanese.

He said UDF members believe in the negotiated federal system of the governance in the talks for sustainable peace and stability in the country.

Mr Sule said all political parties and stakeholders should be involved in the talks to realize lasting peace and avoid dictatorship in the next transitional government.

UDF Chairman expressed hope that both SPLM in government and opposition recognize that they are not the only people who matter in South Sudan but citizens.
