Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday said its Minister is expected to visit Sudan this week.
The ministry said Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Sudan on Wednesday to meet President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and hold talks with Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti. Russia http://en.itar-tass.com/
Russia added that this would be Lavrov’s first visit to the republic after South Sudan separated from the north in 2011.
The ministry said the visit, which is taking place at crucial point for the Republic of Sudan, aims to confirm their willingness to contribute to the inter-Sudanese settlement process in accordance with international law and to resolve issues of stable normalization in Darfur based on the Doha peace agreement signed in May 2011.
